Franchise opportunity overview A ground floor opportunity Welcome to FitSpan franchise discovery. This is a ground floor opportunity to build a local business around functional fitness and longevity. Over five modules, you will explore the concept, the member experience, the marketing system, your team, and the practical work of opening. We will also learn about your goals and readiness. You do not need to decide today. Your job is to understand the opportunity, ask useful questions, and assess whether the system fits the business you want to lead. Start with the story behind the brand. The story behind FitSpan David Berger sold his company at forty-five. Instead of feeling celebratory, he felt the effects of stress, lost sleep, and neglected health. He changed his diet, worked with health professionals, and found the motivation of group fitness. Then a shoulder injury interrupted that progress and eventually led to surgery. He wanted to preserve the energy and community of a class while finding a different approach to training. He met Andy Baxter, whose work in medical exercise and water resistance opened a new possibility. Born on a mountain David traveled to Oregon, trained in Andy’s studio, and joined him on a hike up Mount Ashland. That hike marked the beginning of FitSpan. The central idea is straightforward: strength should help people participate in the activities they value. Travel, hiking, time with family, and everyday independence are all part of that conversation. For an owner, the mission becomes practical. Your team needs to understand the person walking through the door, make the experience welcoming, and deliver the program consistently. Who the studio is designed to serve FitSpan serves three core member groups. The active late-career professional, typically forty-five to sixty-five, values an efficient routine that supports work, family, and travel. The health-conscious retiree values confidence, community, and independence. The previously active person returning after injury may be seeking a less intimidating environment and a carefully coached experience. These are personas for understanding needs, not a promise that every person is suitable for every exercise. The owner’s task is to build a respectful experience and ensure the team follows appropriate screening and coaching procedures. The studio model FitSpan’s model brings water resistance into a thirty-minute coached circuit. Members train in teams of eight, with new starts every ten minutes. The staggered format is intended to provide scheduling flexibility while making thoughtful use of the studio. The FitSpan Score introduces a one-to-one conversation, and later check-ins create opportunities to discuss progress. These design choices need disciplined execution. Staff coverage, arrivals, coaching, transitions, and follow-up must work together. A distinctive concept is the beginning; consistent local delivery is what the franchisee must build. Early-owner opportunities Early franchisees can access an early-adopter franchise fee of thirty-nine thousand dollars, compared with the standard forty-five thousand dollar fee, and a ten thousand dollar corporate investment in grand-opening marketing. Early-owner benefits also include additional on-site training, local partnership support, and territory opportunities. Additional-unit fees step down to thirty-four thousand, twenty-nine thousand, twenty-four thousand, and nineteen thousand dollars for the second, third, fourth, and fifth or later units. These benefits depend on current availability and written terms. Territory rights and future-unit commitments must be examined in the actual documents. Readiness and cultural fit FitSpan’s preliminary financial criteria include one hundred thousand to one hundred fifty thousand dollars in liquid assets, a credit score of at least six hundred ninety, and net worth of at least three hundred thousand dollars. These are screening criteria, not the full investment or financing approval. FitSpan also looks for a passion for health, willingness to follow a system, service orientation, and commitment to learning. A background check is part of the separate qualifying process.
